It’s been 10 years since the devastating floods of 2007 and the group has been working towards delivering a catchment based approach, applying the principles of natural flood management, which involve a whole series of small measures to “slow the flow”.
We warmly welcome all to an informative evening where you will hear more about our progress over the year and our plans for the future. The evening will start with a brief introduction from our Chairman Jem Williamson and a local update from the Vice-Chairman Richard Wakeford. We will also hear from Chris Utley from the Stroud Rural SuDS scheme who will explain the difference that natural flood management measures above Stroud have achieved. Brian Smith from the Environment Agency will then outline how government money will help encourage progress. There will be an opportunity for you to put questions to an expert panel. We will close the meeting with a brief formal AGM and election of officers.
Please join us on Monday 6th November at Abbey Fields Community Centre, Back Lane, Winchcombe GL54 5QH at 7.30 pm, light refreshments will be provided.
